Peter Fischli & David Weiss svájci művészpáros a 1970-es évek végétől mindennapos tárgyakat változtat át ironikus manipulációkkal, új életbe és fontosságba állítva őket. Miközben kihangsúlyozzák a munkájuk humoros és érzelmi elemeit, egyidejűleg szórakoztatják is a közönségeiket. Munkájukon keresztül feltárják a látszólag ellentétes elemek kapcsolatait,-- a munkát és a játékot, a rendet és a káoszt, a földit és a fenségest. Az ellentétek birodalmába húzzák a nézőket, akik így az izgalom és a nyugtalanság közt szemlélhetik a kiállított műveket.

Since the late 1970s, Swiss artists Peter Fischli and David Weiss have captivated audiences with their extraordinary depictions of the commonplace. Working in the media of sculpture, film, photography, and installation art, Fischli and Weiss transform everyday objects into ironic manipulations, infusing them with new life and importance. Highlighting humorous and emotional elements in their work, the artists simultaneously amuse and unnerve their audiences. Through their work, the artists explore the relationships of seemingly opposing elements -- work and play, order and chaos, mundane and sublime -- and draw the viewer into the realm of opposites as he or she may be both fascinated and disquieted by what is on display.
